Can the Geely EX5 use Tesla Superchargers in the UK?
No. Tesla's UK Supercharger network currently uses a proprietary connector on the older V2 sites and CCS on newer V3/V4 sites. Where V3/V4 Superchargers are open to non-Tesla vehicles via the Tesla app, the EX5 can physically plug in on CCS — but coverage of non-Tesla Supercharging in the UK is limited and site-by-site. Older V2 Superchargers are not compatible with the EX5.
What connector does the Geely EX5 use?
The Geely EX5 uses CCS (Combined Charging System, Type 2) for DC fast charging, and standard Type 2 for AC charging. Both are the UK/European standard, so the EX5 works with the vast majority of UK public chargers.
How long does it take to charge a Geely EX5 from 10% to 80%?
On a 100 kW+ DC fast charger, roughly 35 minutes for 10–80%. On a typical 7 kW home wallbox (AC), a 20–80% charge takes around 5 hours. On the EX5's peak 11 kW AC charger, closer to 3 hours 20 minutes. Actual times vary with battery temperature, charger sharing, and taper.
How much range does the Geely EX5 have?
The Geely EX5 has an official WLTP combined range of around 267 miles from its 60.2 kWh usable battery. Real-world range in the UK typically lands between 200 and 240 miles depending on speed, temperature, and load.
Can I charge the EX5 at CHAdeMO chargers?
No. CHAdeMO is a legacy Japanese DC standard used by older Nissan Leafs and similar vehicles. The Geely EX5 uses CCS, so CHAdeMO connectors are not compatible.
Is CCS the same as Type 2?
CCS combines the Type 2 AC connector with two extra DC pins in a single inlet. The EX5 has one CCS inlet that accepts both — Type 2 for AC, or CCS for DC fast charging. If a public charger has only a Type 2 socket (no DC pins), that's AC-only and will charge the EX5 at up to 11 kW.

How do you decide if a charger is EX5-compatible?
We check the connector types reported by Open Charge Map at each site. A charger is marked compatible if it offers CCS (Type 2) or standard Type 2 AC. Chargers offering only Tesla-proprietary or CHAdeMO connectors are marked not compatible. Charging speed estimates assume the EX5's DC peak of 100 kW and typical taper.
